Care

Simple: keep it clean, keep it dry, and give it oil now and then.

Three engraved hardwood cutting boards standing upright in a cherry stand on a kitchen counter

01

Wash by hand

Warm water, mild soap and a cloth or soft brush. Never put a hardwood board in the dishwasher.

02

Dry upright

Wipe dry straight away and stand the board on its edge — the stand is built for this — so air reaches both faces.

03

Oil when it looks dry

When the grain starts to look pale or thirsty, apply a food-safe board oil, let it soak in, and wipe off the excess.

04

Keep it out of extremes

Avoid soaking, prolonged damp, direct sun and radiators. Sudden drying is what warps wood.

05

Refresh the surface

Light scratches are normal. A gentle sand with fine paper followed by oil brings the face back.

06

Keep prep separate

Using the dedicated meat and fish board for raw proteins keeps the other two cleaner for longer.
